Essential Tech to bring on holidays

A Smart Phone

The most essential travel item! It offers a wide range of applications, including keeping you in touch with family and/or your travelling companions, and planning day to day activities. Bookings, map directions, restaurant recommendations, and accommodation can all be accessed with a single tap.

TECH TIP: Connect to local WiFi when available to reduce data use.

A Portable Power Bank

This is a holiday necessity if you're travelling off grid, hiking or on the go. Some portable chargers are as small as a matchbox, while others have enough ports and power to charge the electronics of a whole family. They're ideal if you're camping, sleeping in your swag, or travelling for long periods with few power outlets available.

TECH TIP: Check out if your phone is compatible with magnetic power banks. Simply attach to back of phone to charge. No cords!

An iPad or Tablet

If a smartphone screen is too small, a tablet or ipad is an adaptable alternative. It is lighter and more portable than a laptop, and packs away easily in a backpack or suitcase. This is particularly useful if you need a lightweight option to catch up on some work, watch your favourite streaming service or even write some emails or a blog while travelling. Just don't forget the charge cord and compatible adapter.

TECH TIP: Always use a protective iPad or tablet cover to avoid damage when travelling

A Universal adapter

If travelling overseas a universal adapter will help keep you charged throughout your travels. Fortunately many airlines, cafes and hotels now have USB ports for you to plug your charge cord in directly however a universal plug adapter with USB-A and C ports provides the flexibility to plug multiple items at a time into compatible mains power. This is particularly useful if you have multiple devices, or travelling with friends and family.

TECH TIP: Check the universal adapter had correct connections for your region of travel plus atleast one USB-A and USB-C port.

A Noise-Cancelling Headset

When going on holiday, make sure you pack noise-cancelling headset/headphones or earbuds. They’re a great investment and a good set will filter out engine (or neighbour) noise whether you are flying to Sydney, Perth or New York, or travelling by bus from Vietnam to Cambodia. Filter the extraneous noise and focus on you. You have earned the right to relax!

TECH TIP: There are many ANC headphones and earbuds to suit all budgets.

Charge cables and charge pads

There’s no point bringing good technology on your next holiday if you can’t charge it. Grab a small zip bag and pack a charge cable for all your devices to keep you powered on the go. To help travel light and reduce the amount of cables needed, we pack a 3in1 charge cord to reduce the tangle of cords. Plus a personal favourite - a 3in1 foldable charge pad (ie. iPhone, Apple watch, Airpods) can charge all 3 devices at once. Compact, small, efficient. The perfect travel companion!

TECH TIP: Pack lighter. Look out for multi-function devices. 3in1 foldable charge pads (For Apple or Samsung devices), 3in1 charge cords etc

A Portable Speaker

Small, portable wireless speakers are perfect for outdoor travel, or impromptu gatherings. They are great for camping, lying on a beach/poolside , outdoor picnics with friends and road trips. Some speakers now also include wireless Qi phone chargers or USB charging. These multi function speakers will play your favourite music and charge your devices when plugged in.

TECH TIP: Check if your wireless speaker has IPX7 waterproof rating for outdoor use.
